FAQ
Common questions about cash discount.
How does a true cash discount work?
You post one price that already carries the cost of card acceptance, and take 3–4% off for any customer paying cash, check or ACH. Cards are cash discounted the same way, so your own cost of processing comes to zero.
Is the discount disclosed at checkout?
Yes. The posted price and the discounted cash price are both shown on the payment page and on the receipt before the customer confirms.
How is this different from a surcharge?
A surcharge adds a fee on top when a customer pays by card, and carries its own card-brand rules and state restrictions. A cash discount does the opposite: the posted price stands and the customer is given money off for paying cash, check or ACH. We set the program up to the disclosure requirements that apply in your state.
How fast do funds reach my bank?
Batches settle to your account the next business day. ACH follows standard bank timing.
Do I have to change how I take payments?
No. The cash discount runs inside the same gateway as your virtual terminal, invoices, payment links and recurring schedules.
